The World Wize Web Schools Project provides an exciting opportunity for children to explore the way in which the threads of stories connect everyone across the world, between countries and across cultures whilst celebrating the magic and power of words.
Through stories we gain a deeper understanding of the world in which we live and the common bond that we share as global citizens. The underlying themes and wisdom within stories are the same the world over but the variations in the way they are told can give us an insight into different cultures.
Through storytelling and the construction of word and story webs, children can begin to gain a deeper understanding of their connectedness with the world and all those who dwell upon it. This awareness will grow as they reach adulthood carrying with them the seeds of respect and acceptance that are absolutely vital for the growth of a happy, healthy, global community of the future.
The project also provides many opportunities for links to the national curriculum particularly within Literacy, Citizenship, English and Art.
"Miracles are a retelling in small letters of the very same story which is written across the whole world in letters too large for some of us to see.”
C.S. Lewis
